The First Chinese-Invested Project of Wind Power Generation in Pakistan to Begin Construction

Nanjing Sunec Wind Generator Equipment Factory in China and Water and Power Development Authority in Pakistan invested USD97.65m together in Gharo District of Sind Province in Pakistan to build a project of 50 MW in wind power generation. It has already finished preparations for starting work and will begin construction in June officially. Through three-year wind testing and pre-feasibility study, the cooperation constructing agreements was formally signed in December 2007. The project consists of ten 5MW generation fields, with a total of ninety 600KW wind generators and a total area of about 6.5 km2.

According to plan, the project will be completed to start generating in July 2009.
